The question is, have you "primed" it with another GPS program? Tom Tom requires you to use another program to get your gps fix. My favourite program for this is Chartcross GPS Test. Google Maps also works, although a bit slower.

Re: Tom tom 7...

no, tom tom does NOT require another program for the GPS lock. I have been using Tom tom for a while now and do not have any other type of GS program installed.

is location turned on? do you know that your GPS is even working? maybe search for HTC Gps tool just to see if your GPS is working. I have never had an issue with my TP and tom tom...

99% of the time tomtom 7 requires no priming on the TP. however. that being said. i ahve had times that it just would not get a signal without priming. it has greatly depended on the rom i was using. when i do need a prime, i just load up google maps.

Re: Tom tom 7...

I've been using TomTom 6 for about a week and a half now. No "priming" needed. In the GPS settings on the phone (not in the Tom Tom program), make sure Manage GPS Automatically is checked, and under Phone-->Services-->Location Setting make sure Location is turned on. In the Tom Tom program go to GPS preferences and Configure and choose Com 4 and Baud 4800. When you go back to the main screen, set a new destination and it starts working (sometimes I don't get an immediate start until I choose a destination).

HTH. Sorry, I haven't been able to upgrade to 7 so I don't know if that will be different. But I don't want to mess up a working system anyway
