alltel Phones on verizon not working!!
 

ok as of right now verizon says they are having a nation wide data black out on all alltel phones!!! the rep i am speaking to now says they don't know whats wrong or when it will be fixed, but says it is all alltel devices!!!

dude, you are part of a buyout, problems happen with things like this. give it time, it will get better.

Weird, I seem to not be having problems.
well other than the ones that result in me getting a new phone.
Which verizon is replacing with an alltel one,
but the only way to get an alltel one now is to have it shipped to you
(yes it is a brand new one, not refurbished), as they do not have them in stock in the stores. :angry7:
But that is also because the nearest alltel store to me has been shut down due to the verizon store within 500 feet of it.
They may still be giving out new ones at the actual alltel stores still,
but I can't confirm nor deny as I just go to the verizon store now,
and still get what I need/want without any hassle.



**Edit: this new theme here at ppcgeeks is going to make me redo my entire signature. haha. that's no fun... oh well, I guess that's what I get for not being on here for a couple weeks. It still looks mad weird to me haha. but anyways, enough with off topicness.

hmmm...my girls delve has no data as of right now. Mine was having trouble connectin earlier too.

I also have no data... 1st rep said shouldn't take more than a couple hours, second rep said btwn 12 and 24 hrs :(

I have been plagued with problems since the "official" changeover earlier this month. Things are not really looking very good. :(

For as much as we are paying for these "smart" plans, things should be going much more smoothly. We all expected a small bump in the road, but it looks like we may be in for much more...

I was haveing the same issues noticed them this afternoon.

Try changeing the data connection password to all caps, fixed it for me.
so it would read something like this:

Phone number dialed: #777
User Name: YourPhoneNumber@alltel.net
Password: ALLTEL (all caps)

This one seems like a small bump to me..looks like we were only down for about 8 hours (unless it goes down again).

My home internet/cable has gone down much more than my phone data plan (and has done the same no matter where I lived or who the provider was). I'm sure most people posting have seen the same. I can deal with an 8 hr or so downtime on my phone data since this is the first time I've seen it happen (smartphone on VZ from Nov 08 to Apr 09, on Alltel from Apr to Jul & now back to Verizon with the merger). If it becomes a trend I will start raising a stink, but for now I write it off to **** happens during the takeover.

That didn't work for me :(
Anyone know why my phone keeps resending text messages to people ?
