Angry Telenav update What the heck???

I got the "new update is availible" 3 days ago for my telenav and so I got the cab 5.5.18 , reinstalled it and it locked up my TP. I did a soft reset and reloaded it, it worked then...till the third time. I got a "subscription expired call 88telenav4" well I called them and got an outsouced indian dork that argued with me that I had to pay for a new one...WTF? I told him I had SEP but he was bent on me paying for it again. Well I got ahold of sprint adv. tech support and he said no problem and he would handle it. Well a few min later I got a call and he said it was all good, and now it works again.

Next problem is telenav send me an email letting me know that my subs. is set to expire in Aug09...oddly enough my 2 year agreement also ends then... I am not looking foward to this.

Re: Telenav update What the heck???

That can't be right. That thing is included in your plan...

You can't deal with Sprint directly? I don't have Sprint Navigation so I'm not sure how it works, but I'd imagine Sprint can fix it. The outsourced people at TeleNav probably don't even know who Sprint is

Re: Telenav update What the heck???

I had problems with this update myself over the weekend. I talked with the Sprint advanced technical support (initially called 877-345-7895 was then transferred) and they advised that it was possible the upgrade did not remove the original .exe file. I did a hard reset, 3rd one in 3 months. They sent a link to http://otacdn.telenav.com/resources/...PPC_5.5.18.cab (I typed this so hopefully no errors) he was very clear to tell me to save it first and then to open it to run the file. The app then opened. It did ask for a password, which was news to me. I entered the last four digits of my phone number and it worked.

Re: Telenav update What the heck???

Try this, ##3282#, edit, enter your MSL (if you don't know it, go HERE to DL BAF MSL Grabber), menu, restore. This will restore your data profile. Give it some time and it will work. The exact same thing happened to me and this is what I ended up doing. Good luck and let us know if this worked for you. =)

Re: Telenav update What the heck???

When I was prompted to update Sprint Navigation, it said my phone could not be detected. So I selected Sprint/Nextel, Touch Pro, and it shows me build 2.1.23.

I do see if you select Telenav GPS Navigator, and select HTC, Touch Pro, it shows build 5.5.18.

What's the difference?

Re: Telenav update What the heck???

TeleNav version has better looking graphics, as far as I can tell, that's about it. =D

Better graphics, the position on the maps are a bit more accurate while on the move.
