Any suggestions?

Heya guys. I know the general story now about the Alltel -> Verizon thing. This morning I took my phone to the local store, and the guy tried his best to get the ESN registered on the VZW network through the local tech support center. He started out and told the support rep that I'm a previous Alltel customer that wants to activate this phone, so they have to assume the ESN. After about 15 minutes they gave up and he told me they weren't going to do it. I, of course, appreciated their efforts.

Now I'm curious about how far along the merger between Alltel & Verizon has progressed, and when the phone should be freely activated after they've merged the ESN databases. Also, I'm curious if anyone else has any ideas on how I could go about registering it on their network? I can try my luck with a different location / support rep. It seems right now I just need to run into the right type of person that would be willing to register the ESN on the network.

FYI, I unlocked the phone with the 0.37 Hard-SPL, and I'm using MightyROM.

Re: Any suggestions?

Excellent, thank you! I'll read through that shortly. I did run into a bunch of threads on the topic, but I got conflicting opinions, and a lot of noise. So I figured I'd explicitly ask in the hopes it'll clear up the signal-to-noise ratio on this issue.
