go to start settings sounds and notifications, then go to the notications panel. no need to regedit.

No you can select which notifications do what. You'll see when you get there, just look through the drop down menu in there.

no you can specify sounds/vibrate notification per function of the device, for example, my does not alert me to new email but it does sound off for text and my alarms

And here I was wanting to make it harder than it was.
Now I really feel stupid. I even looked there, but thought ...naw, that's to easy!
