Help with Exchange and SMS alerts

Hopefully someone on here can help me out.
First let me explain how my Pro is setup for my work email , and then the problem BECAUSE OF SPRINT.
I have my work email through their Exchange server, and on the server is a rule to forward any email to me to my sprint email account.
My sprint email account is setup to send me an SMS alert that I have a new email.

I started having problems late last week when I realized that I wasnt getting any SMS alerts and had incoming email. I see where the Sprint people reduced my Sprint email account from 5MB to 1MB, so when that fills up (and fast) I stop getting alerts that I have emails.

1) Is there a way to setup the work Exchange email account on my phone to alert me (sound or something?) that I have a new email?
2) Anyone know why the hell Sprint changed the email account size?
3) Any other ideas on how to get SMS alerts when an email hits my Exchange email account?
