SO...., My Buttons are Dying one by one

Here is something I have come to notice and would like to know if some people are experiencing the same problem. And please in the case where this has been reported before or a thread opened, Admin you are free to close or move it. But I did my homework first.

Anyway, my Home Button, Call Button, and Behind Button all in that area do not work often. I have to soft reset sometimes and if I am lucky they work, if not I just use the screen to do what I have to. It started with the Back button ( <---) of the D-pad not responding all the time. Then it just stops, soon the Call button followed and now the Home Button. I experienced the same issue when I had the Mogul. Mind you, I have never dropped my Pro, never come in contact with water and its still mint. I have had since Dec 25, 2008. Anyone experiencing this? Any Solution? Input Highly appreciated

Re: SO...., My Buttons are Dying one by one

this does sound software/rom related, but for what it's worth, I have noticed on my 12/18 build TP I have to press those buttons toward the far corner.

Re: SO...., My Buttons are Dying one by one

Had the same problem. One by one these buttons died. Went on Sprints advanced exchange page and they overnighted me a new TP the same day. Ive heard this happening alot and they've got me setup to try this new TP out and on April 10th they're sending a Palm Treo Pro to test for 2 weeks to see if I like it better.

I love the TP but it appears theres alot of hardware issues popping up, I.E. keyboard failure, Button failure etc.

I am running Mighty Mike 4.15 with Touch Pro 2 Manilla.

I would say I doubt it is the ROM because I have ran several other ROM on it and the same problem all the time. I am getting like really frustrated now. I fear all the keys would die soon and I will be left with nothing but the keyboards and screen.

I can try another ROM , what do you recommend?

As far as software foes just the usual , Live Search , Google Maps, Opera Mini, etc.

But I did install the NueKeyboard Light Fix, and since then I noticed that if I click on letters on my keyboards, numbers randomly come up. I will try uninstalling that and see if I notice a difference.

Re: SO...., My Buttons are Dying one by one

I had a similar issue which seems to have stopped. The same buttons you mentioned would not work all the time. However once I used the screen for example to get to the phone menu or home screen, the buttons would magically work again. I tried the newest version of my ROM (RRE for AT&T) and it hasnt happened to me in the last 2 weeks.

Re: SO...., My Buttons are Dying one by one

I will try some of the recent ROMS for CDMS around and see if that solves the issue. Thanks for the reply

Re: SO...., My Buttons are Dying one by one

Im using a stock sprint rom with a march 12th build date and I just got my 2nd TP Thursday and the buttons are already going to crap. I dont think it has anything to do with software, seems to me its a hardware issue.
