You need to edit the manila files or find a theme that supports landscape. I just did this myself. I didn't edit any files, just found a theme, installed, enjoyed, removed.. I'm too picky.

Yeah I don't feel like editing anything either, but you can find a theme like I said and install it fairly easily. I spend zero time looking at that screen so I guess it really isn't a priority to me, although, none of this is!!

LOL OK so you need manila editor .... once you locate that bad boy the you need to run it as administrator ( right click and you will the option ) ... try to locate the manila files for the landscape ... look for icons you like or love and replace them ... and voila same process for the icons in the portrait let me know if you need help!

If you flash a ROM with TF3D2 you can use Touchflo in landscape. Try the Juicy 8 ROM it worked pretty well for me. I'm probably going to reflash it if I can hold of on new toy fever...
