Try deleting the partnership in activesync on the computer, reboot, plug your phone in.

Does your phone popup and ask you what you want to do ie Activesync, Disk Drive, Internet sharing? If not, maybe goto Start-Settings-Connection-USB2PC and check ActiveSync and uncheck the box for asking everytime you plug in if its checked.

Open up activesync, click on file->delete mobile device. Then reboot your computer. Reset your phone. Plug it in. Let me know what happens.

Also, try plugging in your phone to a different USB port.
