I have been able to figure out the simple things. One problem I am having is while in TC I am not able to rename a file (welcomehead.192.dll & phcanoverbmp.dll) nor am I able to move them? Obviously I am missing something... what am I doing wrong? :scratch:

Rename it with .bak at the end then you can move it then rename it once it's out of the folder it's in. Be sure to rename it and make a copy of it into a "Original files" folder that you create so just in case you mess something up you have the original file.

You need to do it from ActiveSync or use a file explorer like Resco or Pocket Commander.

I'm using Total Commander and when I rename the file it reverts back to the original filename & format.

try soft resetting and doing it as soon as the phone loads up.

I had a problem like that ten someone made me a cab file and executing the cab file replaced the file I didnt want. that was for htcvolumecontrol.dll
