Touch Pro slow Internet Sharing :/

My internet sharing is really slow. By slow I mean slow(slower than my high speed, my ISP sucks so yea their "high-speed" is about dial-up) Anyways, anyone know a fix preferably a quick one. I have Alltel (not sure of ROM or Radio Version) It's stock so yea... so if anyone knows like a faster radio for it or w/e please post. By the way I have a fairly good connection to the network ( I've tried it other places but it seems just as slow) :/

Thank You!!:)

Be sure that your device is getting EV signal, not 1x. Data speeds are terrible if you're in a 1X area.

Even so, my neighbor gets way faster speeds with his, he had some tech guy put new radio software or something in his like 12.2.20 or something, I dont think im on EV but still it shouldnt be as bad as it is, right? http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

EVDO should give you about 1-2mbps which is usually enough for streaming video.

You can also try this.

Alittle improvement, my neighbor still gets 1.5mb down and 55kb up

After Installing Tcptune

My upload is a bit worse, not much difference at all :/
It looks like it worked for some people... not me though,
any other suggestions would be great, but thanks for the help so far!! http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/images/icons/icon11.gif

Looks like 1X speeds. Try testing your bandwidth somewhere that has better service and see if you get better speeds.

Well, my neighbor lives a quarter mile away, and in fact he gets worse reception usually... i can see a cell phone tower from my house... so why does he have way better speeds than me?](*,)

I assume you to have the same service and you're sure the tower you see is Alltel? Perhaps if you call up Alltel and complain enough they might be able to do something, like give you a discount or something. If it's the tower that can't transmit the bandwidth to you, there's not much on your end you can do to help that unfortunately .

Re: Touch Pro slow Internet Sharing :/

Yes we both have the same service and yea Alltel said that tower is made for calls only, not data transfer, but i still wonder how he got that internet speed, he gave me the guys phone number that put radio software in it or something, but the guy didn't answer, further explanation would be great, but unnecessary ill settle for what i've got :???:
