yes thats what voice command is... it will also announce incoming calls, txts, emails... it will only read them aloud when they first arrive though... cant make it re-read a txt for ya.. fyi

cool guys. thanks again. my phone doesnt announce the calls though... i have everything enabled and under NOTIFICATIONS, i have only "announce notifications though device speaker or wired headset only". Does having a custom ringtone affect this at all??? thanks fellas.

Yep. There are lots of hacks for VC. The best guide is here but there are other tweaks.
This one might help with announcements.
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce\Category
change from VoiceCommand1 to Ring

HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce\Script
change from as5p to v0p (that's v-zero-p) - for vibrate & ring, or p (ring only)

The reg above is to enable announcing callers,it works and it is working
Announcing text and email is just a matter of going to setting/VC/ check option you like.

If you have VC 1.6.xxx
Look under settings--> Voice command and there are many different things that can be announced. Contacts, media, Phone, etc.

When you hold the assigned button on your phone to activate voice command you could say;
DIAL 555-1234
CALL Bob Jones on mobile
LOOKUP Bob Jones (Brings up contact info)
PLAY Black Eyed Peas
Next Appointment

I have been using VC for quite some time now and since many states can fine you for texting or even dialing while driving, being able to push a button and say DIAL xxx-xxxx is great to have.
