European Version on AT&T

I have a European version and am in the US. I currently have an AT&T SIM card and am able to operate on the network correctly. The only thing I cannot do is connect to thier 3G data network. This is limiting my connection to 56K.

Does anyone have any tricks for getting this working, or direction for me to look in? I tried enabling the bands in the registry, but that did not do the trick. Is it just the ROM, or is the European phone incapable of running on the US bands?

Thanks!!!

Re: European Version on AT&T

from what i understand, the european versions do not run on american gsm bands so you will be limited to EDGE for data as opposed to 3g. i believe its more a hardware issue than software.

Re: European Version on AT&T

Correct. The frequency bands the phone is hardwired with are set to carrier specs.
