uninstalling weatherpanel cleared 150 megs!

Before today I had 250 megs of memory free. For some strange reason my memory went down to 99 megs free. I deleted a bunch of cabs and searched for files over 44k and couldn't find the culprit.

Since WP stopped working I decided to uninstall it and whola! After a good 3 mins of waiting for it to uninstall, I got my memory back.

I have found that the radar pics can take up a lot of memory. I used to have it cache 12 hours and it used half my memory. I dropped that to 2 hours and it uses a reasonable amount. Seemed worse when I added an alternate URL for one of my radar pics.

it had nothing to do with your radar images... go to the weatherpanel forum if u wanna find out what happened...why your memory was being eaten up.. and what were trying to do to ressurect it...

and its back up, someone said??? guess ill head over to the forum and check it out to see..

Not with me. The constant data connection, phone heating up, battery lasting less then 3 hours was from Weatherpanel connection. Fixed here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=7357

Memory use though is from images. Had it happen long before this week's problems.

There is a new cab. You have to reinstall it. Something to do with the way that Weather dot com recognizes where the data is being sent. I am no drip under pressure on this topic (expert).
