ActiveSync TroubleShooting

So i just spend 3 hours trying to figure out why my activesync wouldnt work and i thought i would write this:

1. Try Connecting and Disconnecting Internet sharing
1. open internet sharing on your ppc
2. Plug the ppc to the computer
3. click connect on internet sharing and wait a few seconds
4. click disconnect and wait a few seconds
5. disconnect the phone from the computer.
6. reconnect to the computer

2. Make sure activesynce on the phone is set to connect from usb
1. go to start>programs>actovesync
2. click menu on the bottom right
3. make sure the connect from usb is checked

3. Try different usb port

4. Disable "enable faster data synchronization"
1, go to start>settings>connections tab>usb to pc
2. uncheck "Enable faster data synchronizatioon"

5. Reinstall activesync
this might seem weird but this fixed a problem i had before.

Ive been using activesync ever since i got my phone and i never had a problem but for SOME REASON i had to do #2 as it was unchecked

Feel free to add more help or input

Re: ActiveSync TroubleShooting

im still one f those that use activesync over everything else as well..

dont open up ICS, i dont where u heard that from, that will stop your activesync connection and try to tether..

umm.. make sure in settings>usb to pc> activesync(sync with outlook) is checked and also eneable advanced network functinality is check as well... dont use the dosk drive option...

let me know if that did anything..

Re: ActiveSync TroubleShooting

AS is such a pain in the butt. I just either email the files to myself or copy them directly to the sd card.

Re: ActiveSync TroubleShooting

A word of warning. Sometime around v2, Activesync became self aware and started monitoring its users. If you have anything bad to say about AS, your connections will break, your sync's will fail and your contacts will be duplicated. I was nearly driven over the brink of insanity till I learned. I love AS and it loves me.....please......oh dear god ....please...
