Re: Tether and Charge :)

Different ROMs produce different heat results. I am using Calkulin's ROMs (from kitchen) and I don't get the amount of heat some of you are reporting. I also stick with STOCK radio. I have yet to see any reliable evidence to suggest switching your radio off the stock version makes any kind of improvement. So.... stick with what it was designed to use... and try different ROMs.

Re: Tether and Charge :)

And here's a link about lithium ion batteries and how they should be charged / discharged and why. It's some pretty accurate info. Full discharging should be avoided, but every now and again is needed for "digital memory" which is the devices fault, not it's battery's fault.

Re: Tether and Charge :)

Turning down the screen brightness might help. Atleast it does for me.

Re: Tether and Charge :)

Its a ploy to have to buy batteries...LOL. Seriously tho these phones would be much better if they were capable of going without a battery. Meaning that once you tether the phone you can at that point TAKE OUT the battery and the phone still is powered by the charge cable. That would eliminate the heat issues IMO.

if you want to try and save the battery.. only tether while not charging, then stop tethering when battery gets to like 40 or so percent and charge it up, then unplug it and go back to tethering.

of course.. that takes some discipline, lol.

if youre going to tether.. best to have a separate battery that you use for only tethering, and change it out when youre done.. so that you dont have to battle to keep your phone alive all day when youre using it normally.

or keep an extra battery always charged so that you dont have to charge the battery while its hot.. because the phone is heating the battery.. the battery isnt heating itself (very much)..
1- whos talking about discharging?? the battery stays at 100%
2- the point of this thread is that everything is running cool while you tether
3- you need some DISIPIRIN *Eric CartmanSan*

Re: Tether and Charge :)

how can the older mogul tether and keep a full charge while charginh, yet this newer generation touch pro can't?

it's a defect that HTC has IGNORED

while the mogul did suck, the Touch Pro SUCKS EVEN MORE
