Re: Problem connecting to home wireless network

I actually noticed one other thing that maybe everyone else has. When you click on the network and fill in your settings, you input your security key then eventually click "connect", then it says "connecting", then "available/unavailable". But then when I click on the network again and advance to the authentication page, there are 3 more asterisk's in the network key box. Meaning our network key is 10 characters long, but when I click again on the network there are 13 asterisk's. Very odd...

Re: Problem connecting to home wireless network

As of a few minutes ago my TP can connect to the network when it is open and no security. But still same problem when it does have security.

Re: Problem connecting to home wireless network

Try setting up the router to use a different security mode than what you were using. WEP, WPA, WPA-PSK, WPA2, WPA2-PSK, etc.

Re: Problem connecting to home wireless network

mine is a d-link as well. i will have to try another router. just did a restore on my computer. once i get up and running again, i will try another router and see if that helps. hmmmm... sounds like d-link is the problem.

Re: Problem connecting to home wireless network

I have troubleshooted properly. My PC just connected wirelessly to my router with authentication WPA-PSK, and encryption AES. I used the exact same settings on my TP to connect and I still get the "unavailable" after I try to connect(and I'm still getting the extra 3 asterisk's for the network key when I go back into the network's settings after removing and entering in info for a new network). I even tried reserving an IP for my TP on my router with it's MAC address, and still nothing. It's a problem with the security because I connected when it was an open network. Afar from that I don't know what to do.

Re: Problem connecting to home wireless network

This was happening to me too, in Brazil. On protected networks AND public networks. Some places it worked, some places it didnt. For the places it did/didn't work, it was consistent.

Re: Problem connecting to home wireless network

Just to update you guys, I did a hard reset and the wifi works like a charm now. I'm going to go ahead and install everything on again and see if I can still connect properly. Note that my phone was still unlocked, and my settings for my secured network are now WPA2-PSK with TKIP encryption. Perhaps we all installed something?
