playing with old mogul has stopped windows from recognizing my tp

I was putting some ebooks on my old mogul to give to someone who was travelling. Synced it, worked fine. Even flashed the latest DCD rom onto it. Put the ebooks on, everything great.

Now my laptop won't recognize my touch pro. Every time I connect it says "USB device not recognized". Its running windows 7 with windows mobile device center. I've tried restarting the phone and the laptop.

anyone know how to fix this?

Goto system, device manager, and when your phone is plugged in you'll see it in the list of the hardware, most likely it will have a ! by it saying unrecognized or whatever, right click over it and uninstall it. then unplug your phone and plug it back in.. see if that works.

took me a day or two of playing with drivers and whatnot but I found the simplest solution. uninstalling the USB drivers did nothing.

I went into task manager and shut down the windows mobile device center process. Then I went into control panel under the "programs and features tab". windows mobile device center had two items, the device center and a "driver upgrade". I uninstalled the driver upgrade, then connected my phone and it connected no problem. hope this helps someone out eventually.

also I noticed that after doing this, even though it connected fine, if you put the device in bootloader mode (to update the rom) windows must find the drivers again. they are downloaded without problem.
