help activating sprint phone on MTS network

purchased a sprint phone and am attempting to have it activated on MTS. The phone was sold to me unlocked, but the ##1111111# doesnt seem to we working to access the phone, or anything for that matter. Is it still locked? how can I tell.. I am a total noob here, so any help would be appreciated, rom version is 1.03.651.3

By "Unlocked" the seller probably meant the SPL was unlocked so you can flash custom roms. What you need is to set your MSL code. You can use CDMA workshop to read your MSL and then QPST to change it to whatever you want

yea, getting to that tri-color screen, it definitely says unlocked. I will check out the tutorial. Thank you
