well whatever is being worked on for GSM ). 4g is pretty more so mentioned as 3.5g by tech people. Atleast that's what I've picked up on my countless readings of forums/threads about everything phones, and have had it confirmed a couple of times (in a little more detailed breakdown) at xda. yes, it increases dl's also! I have revA and ****ing love it!

Re: Trying to get the rA icon like alltel users on sprint.
well, the increase in dwnld is from better tower ect and faster/more requests per socket.. by the specs it's the same.. (gsm's 3g is basically evdo)
rev.a is a revision of evdo(3g) so it's not really a new generation, what I meant by 4g was wimax. anyway, no2chem worked on the Ra icon issue last year and was unsuccessful with sprint.

Since you're positive you've got the rA icon in your phcanOverbmp.dll and you've got the reg value "show_rev_A_icon" in the correct place, it sounds to me like you might not actually be using rA. Another possibility... and this is very much a use at your own risk, could be no2chem's Override .dll and reg hack from here that was mentioned earlier. Haven't actually tested this, but the core concept is ... err... kinda relevant, so--assuming you *do* have Rev A in your EPST, it might be something to check.

I'll look up where I found that info and post it. It sounds better than my short crappy explanation. and should fix the gaps in my statement above. |

Re: Trying to get the rA icon like alltel users on sprint.
Thank you S8perman.
I thanked your post after I downloaded your taskbar that you attached. I installed and it is working but I have still got the same Ev icon on the taskbar. Do I need to delete the reg entry show_rev_A_icon or do I leave it and add another? I do like the addition of the red and green colors in it. Even if I can't get the reva icon I kind of like it. |

Re: Trying to get the rA icon like alltel users on sprint.
Just curious if you checked your Data Parameters in EPST. (If that's even possible for Sprint...??) Thought I might have been on to something.

Re: Trying to get the rA icon like alltel users on sprint.
I think for Sprint it's ##3282#.... lets you check your data provisioning. Might be able to see if you have Rev A in there. With Alltel I can go into Data Parameters here and disable or enable Rev A. I've never done this on a Sprint device to know if it looks or behaves the same, but you could check.
