switch to landscape mode by tilt?
 

it only opens up landscape mode when i open the keyboard,
is there a way to adjust that...as well is there a way to make the home screen on landscape mode the same view as portrait mode?

TF3D2 (Rhodium) maintains your portrait homescreen during landscape mode, and a few Rhodium ROMs I've used also switch you to landscape when the phone is horizontal (as well as flipping portrait mode upside down when the phone is upside down).

Might be worth investigating.

There is also a cab around here somewhere call gyrator that you can look into.

I tried it, but found it a little too finicky for my liking, but it sounds like it will do what you want.
