I had the same question, are you needing WiFi specifically, or does the computer you are hooking to have internet connection?

To get my phone to use an internet connection while connected I had to download Mobile Center and set it up, letting my computer install the phone automatically wouldn't work. Once I installed Mobile Center my phone gets internet through the computer I connect to.

Hope this helps.

There are several great profiling tools out there for GSM devices, but unfortunately I don't know of any *good* way of accomplishing that on a CDMA device. On GSM networks you can freely access Cell ID (cell tower) information to give you a decent estimate of your current position. This method allows you to get a location fix without the need for GPS, which not only drains battery, but also isn't available indoors. You could probably come up with a more hacky solution using Mortscript, but you would need some kind of trigger (time of day, etc.)

Try G-Profile, it will do equipment based profiles, so when you connect to your PC it will turn on WiFi, it also supports location based profiles, but its only supported on GSM devices as bedoig said.

Would be nice if G-Profile supported GPS location. Then it wouldn't matter if you used a GSM or CDMA phone. Anybody know of something that triggers an action based on GPS location?
