Called Sprint to diasble data! question about EV,1X and low audio

So im on a family (of 4) plan with voice and unlimited txt for only 80 bucks. i upgraded my phone to the htc touch pro cuz im usually in a wi-fi enviroment all the time. i hated the fact that the data would turn on by itself sometimes even though i switched it off. i didnt want my bill to skyrocket so i called sprint. im quite satisfied with how fast they blocked the data usage. So now i guess i dont have to install the nodata.cab right? since im free of data completely.

Regarding EV and 1X, what is the difference? Does EV have anything to do with voice calls?

Also i noticed the speaker when placed next to the ear, you cant hear almost anything at all. it was like someone was whispering to me. I think there was an app with this am i right? and how would i install it?

Ev is for data, and being the phone switches to 1x during a call I can say EV has nothing to do with the calls. you may want to check volume levels and make sure your phone is not tryin to use bluetooth. the app you are looking for is called audiopara, i think.

Here's the link to the Audiopara driver - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=41385

I suggest you go through the Touch Pro Essentials sticky as there is a wealth of information there.
