OP, have you tried HTC GPS tools? if not try that and see what happens. it should be in the TP sticky at the top of the page.

I have a telus Touch Pro that didn't seem to have working GPS either....or when it did work it would take 8-9 minutes for it to find satellites.

I found a cab on here marked PPST2.01 and installed that, then activated the file it installed on my PPC in the windows folder. then I did a PRL update via *22803 and a reprogramming via the same number, and the GPS now locks within 10 seconds.

yea, for somereason even with the new MR1 rom from Verizon I had to run the PPST2.01 cab to get my GPS to work. sadly that file I believe was origionally extracted from the Verizon MR1 rom! main touch pro page, one of the stickeys by lllboredllll has the file there in the first post. download that, copy onto your device and run it. reset when prompted. start/settings/personel/phone/services/location ensure is turned on not to 911. Should work.

Yes, that file is included in the MR1 update and is supposed to be run automatically. For some reason, it does not always run and install. So use it, reboot and do *228 with the 1 option. Make sure location is on. Then all will be OK...

Was beating my head against the wall on this one..
Factory defaulted the phone multiple times no matter what.. no GPS satellites being recieved..

Ended up re-downloading the same exact update... same exact file name.
re-flashed all over again (same ROM version) in file name and displayed
in phone.

Now it works just fine...
Have no idea why it didn't work on the first flash.. makes NO sense..
But I'm up & running with GPS in the Verizon provided update.

Yeah.. I'll eventually switch to non-Verizon build of course but I just was
determined to see if it would work with the Verizon update..

i downloaded the rom update for Verizon's HTC Touch Pro and was able to get my GPS working without any additional installs. Here are my steps.

Install the ROM update
Go to Settings > External GPS
Select "Programs" tab and set "GPS program port" to COM4
Select "Access" tab and check the box "Manage GPS automatically"

In your GPS applications (I have tested with Google Maps, Windows Live Search and Ostia), you need to set your GPS to either "COM4" or to "Managed By Windows".

Hope this helps someone.

Me too on 3 out of 5 flashes....
If it does not work, the fix is simple as stated in the thread.

Seems to be a coin toss...
