Needs some advice on flashing roms

Hi all I'm fairly new to the TP upgrade world. I recently unlocked my Sprint HTC TP, flashed it with MightyRom and also a theme. My question is if I want to experience with different Roms what do I need to do with the existing one. Will installing the new ROM automatically override or delete the existing one . And once a ROM is in it if I don't like a program that is included is there more to deleting it from the phone when using Windows Mobile Device or is it gone if I delete it from inside windows mobile device? Is it deleted even though the icon still shows?

Re: Needs some advice on flashing roms

Hi centman, and welcome to the wide world of WM.

Congrats on your first flash. Once you download and run the RUU for another ROM, the previous will be overridden. It's recommended that after a flash, you go to Start, Settings, System, and hit clear storage. This should eliminate alot of problems if you have any. For programs to be deleted you need to navigate to Start>Settings>System> REMOVE PROGRAMS. In there will be a list of installed programs. Generally, once you hit uninstall and then soft reset the device after, the program (including the icon) should be gone.

Good Luck

Re: Needs some advice on flashing roms

Most programs that are built into the rom usually can't be uninstalled using "remove" programs.

No other ways to remove them since they were cooked in instead of just installed

I never got that. Why do people cook them in, rather than just having separate CABs so you can install what you need? It doesn't seem like it would have much of an advantage. It actually seems like it could mess things up for program upgrades and whatnot

Re: Needs some advice on flashing roms

well the stuff thats generally cooked in are things that people NEED or the ROM would be best to operate with. Some chefs cook things in that people like and thats their styles. Theres a few roms out that are empty..such as Project copper and that way you can load whatever you'ld like on it.
