Mobipocket Reader help

I held of from making this thread for as long as I could. I am having the hardest time getting this to run on my Touch Pro. I get it installed and running once just fine. After that is takes forever to open, and then locks up. Not showing in the normal task manager, and I have to use fdcsoft to kill it.

The only reason I am posting this here is because I searched this forum for mobipocket, and saw that tons of users use, and recommend this for the Touch Pro. So any help is appreciated.

By the way. I tried this on the stock rom, gave up, flashed to mightyrom, tried, and still no luck. I was using the program on WinXP to install to my TP and I tried the "mobireader.arm.cab" file off the mobipocket site.

Re: Mobipocket Reader help

It is working fine for me - I wonder if you may have a wrong version? I would download again and reinstall.

Re: Mobipocket Reader help

I've been using this on mine with no problem. This cab is v.5.3 Build 582. Not sure if it's the same version or not, but I've been running this on stock for about a month or so now.

Re: Mobipocket Reader help

Does this error occur with all books? Were the books converted and sent to phone via the desktop MobiReader program? I am thinking that your book file is corrupt somehow or possibly not formatted correctly.

Re: Mobipocket Reader help

I find that Mobipocket works fine, but I have problems with eReader. The drop-down menus don't show up completely and the auto scroll, even set on the fastest speed, is very slow.

FWIW, I'm using the latest Mobi. I installed it via the desktop app in XP.

Re: Mobipocket Reader help

I have similar problems. Paging down almost always works perfectly. But paging up causes an immediate crash. So I do the following dance:
Press home
Launch Mobi
Press home again
Launch Mobi again
This works, even though it never actually ends the program. But I always find myself about 20 pages back from where I started.

But search in Mobi never ever works. I keep a copy of ereader on my TP for searches, and a copy of Mobi for actual reading, because I like to read in full screen and ereader will not do full screen. Kind of ridiculous really.
