Address book for Windows Mobile 6.1

I've got a HTC Touch Pro and I was wondering if anyone knew the actual name and location of the file (s) that hold your address book?

I'm running Windows mobile 6.1

Thanks,
Scooby2112

Re: Address book for Windows Mobile 6.1

After flashing my phone I copied my pim.vol file over and it didn't work. I couldn't see my address book and I couldn't even sync my phone. Is there another file I needed to copy?

...after flashing???? so you didnt backup/extract the file before you started you flash?? if not, you wiped it out man, no diff than a hard rest, sure pim.vol will be there, but if you waited till after the flash to pull the file and copy over its just a blank file, atleast from your phone

I think he was saying after he flashed, he copied it over to the phone.
(the one he had backed up previously).

I don't recommend backing up your contacts that way,
as it can cause problems like you had scooby.
I recommend using PIMbackup or SPBBackup.

Re: Address book for Windows Mobile 6.1

just dbl checkin, people do strange things sometimes lol... i wouldnt recomend that way to do contacts either... above are proven methods..also dashwire works, also ive heard positives about microsofts myphone too, but i havent used that one personaly...

your contacts will still be in outlook on your comp though, u might have to hard reset and begin again... shouldnt be a big deal though since u just flashed anyways

Re: Address book for Windows Mobile 6.1

Sorry I didn't explain the way I flashed it. Yes, I did put the pim.vol on my sdcard and then copied it over to the location it was stored on the phone after I flashed it. I was wanting a backup like this just in case something happened to my phone and I had to replace it for some reason or wipe it and I wasn't near my computer (IE. away on business, vacation, etc.) This way I could flash, wipe memory, replace the phone without any real interruption to the way I used it. I hope this makes sense. Do these software packages that either of you are talking about allow me to do an address book backup and restore from the phone only without involving my computer.

Thanks
