Sprint Touch Pro w/Energy Rom - incoming SMS split at less that 160 characters?

I have a Sprint Touch Pro running a 6.5 Energy Rom. I have noticed that I have received several text messages that are between 140 and 160 characters long that are being split into two messages. I thought the limit was 160 characters, so they should not be broken up. Any ideas why they are getting split?

I'm not sure but I think that depends on the other persons phone/network. Say their SMS limit is 130 characters and they send a 131 character SMS then it doesn't matter that your limit is 160. You're still gonna get two messages.
