Opera not default browser anymore

I am trying to get Opera to be the default browser when I open my email as well as within other applications. Everytime I click for web browsing within email or RSS Hub, it defaults to Windows Internet Explorer. I checked Opera, and there is no default browser menu. This started happening when I installed Opera's news browser which was set to default then uninstalled it. Everything used to default to the Opera that came with phone. I have a Sprint Touch Pro. i even cleared storage and reset device but still defaults to Internet Explorer.

Any help would be appreciated!

Tony

Open opera browser and enter "opera:config" in the URL field. This will take you to the configuration page. Scroll down to "Install" and click on it. Check the box next to "Browser First Time Launch" and then click "save". Exit opera and restart it. After that the browser will be set as default.

Re: Opera not default browser anymore

if it doesn't, then i went through Advanced Configuration and used it to change the file types to default to windows/operaL.exe

Why do all that when opera has a check box built in? Just following my instructions and it's done.

Re: Opera not default browser anymore

Thank you so much nswenson and yotoad. I went into the config and it works!! i appreciate all your help. I also saved the cab file to my notebook just in case I ever have to re-install it. It seems like anytime you set Skyfire or the newest Opera browser to default and deselect default it defaults to the Internet Explore web browser and not Opera.

Thanks again for all of your help and your quick responses!!

Tony
