Touch pro as wifi card for laptop?
 

I was wondering if there is a way to use my touch pro as a wifi card for my laptop? Normally I would use ISC to tether, but my TP no longer has service. My laptops card recently stopped working and I need to connect to the wifi network at work. Any way to use the TP sort of like a wifi card for my laptop?

Good question man, I would connect the TP to wifi and connect your laptop to the TP via wimowifirouter....should work.:scratch: or you get a cheapy pc wireless card or a usb wireless dongle

yeah, except i would rather be able to do it some way without spending money.

have you tried just tethering?

the phone has been desactivated. i switched to the Palm Pre and there is no way to tether with the Pre.......yet.

no, i meant trying to use the WiFi. connect the phone to your wireless modem then use the USB cable to connect to the computer. you should be able to get WiFi through the phone.

I tried that, but what it does is open the ICS program and then it wants to use the sprint connection and there is no way of telling it to use the wifi connection.

IDK then. i swear i have done it before. just dont remember if it was with the TP or the 6800.

just use the internet sharing option to connect threw usb

I used to do this...turn on wifi plug it in. It should open active sync and then you have to switch an active connection either on your PC or PPC. I forget. Maybe that will get you looking at the right options.
