TP or Diamond

Ok, so i have a touch right now and have a connection at the local alltel store that is going to warranty it out for either a Diamond or TP whatever I would like, problem is i've been reading around and am having a hard time deciding. My wife has the TP and has had nothing but problems with her wi-fi, bluetooth and now the keyboard has stopped working. I would like the physical keyboard but need a phone that can stand up to a little more punishment(i.e. my touch has been a great phone for the past 2 years but is completely beat up and needs replaced).

Any opinios on what phone is better.....mainly used for internet surfing, some texting, email and about 4-7 hours a day talking on the phone. Also if one has better reception than the other, alot of driving through grey zones.

Re: TP or Diamond

I had a Diamond and now I have a Touch Pro. My Pro is brand new so I haven't had any problems as of yet. I do like it a lot more than my Diamond. I love the keyboard, sd card, and it seems to me that the quality is a little better.

Re: TP or Diamond

I dont have the diamond and have never used one but the TP is the best ppc/phone ive ever used..theres only a few cons to it being the battery life, faulty keyboard ribbon and speaker is low, other than that its just about perfect..maybe a bigger screen anyways as far as I know their basically the same so either you want the kb or you dont your choice ..good luck!

Re: TP or Diamond

I started with the TP and liked it a lot. I never felt very comfortable with the keyboard. Liked it better on the mogul.

Then I bought a Diamond on eBay to use as my weekend phone, something I could carry around in the jeans pocket.

I ended up giving the TP to my spouse and I now am very happy with the diamond. I don't miss much of what the TP had, maybe more storage would be nice. But the Diamond is small, tight, holds up to a lot and I use a great on-screen keyboard.

I'm looking forward to the D2, with more storage.

Re: TP or Diamond

Sounds like keyboard or no keyboard, but i read somewhere that the TP has better reception than that of the diamond. Anybody have anymore input on that? Also the durability of both i know they're both high end touch screen phones and aren't designed for rugged use but what one in your opinions is built better.

Thanks for all your input so far.

Re: TP or Diamond

The best thing I suggest to the OP is knowing the hardware(KB, SD...)/software (none that I am aware of) differences. Decision is yours alone.

Re: TP or Diamond

I have a TP but I didn't buy it for the KB & actually never use it. I use my own reskinned version of the TouchPal on-screen KB which using T+ is WAY WAY faster than typing on any PPC hardware KB.

I bought the TP for the removeable card (I have over 13 gigs filled on my 16 gig card) & the video out. If I could buy a Diamond that had those two features, I would immediately switch from the TP to a Diamond.

I can't wait for the TP2 & Diamond2 to come out.
