Re: Just bought a new Touch Pro

Use it for about 3 days in the stock configuration, while reading every sticky thread in the Upgrade section. Then, when you unlock and start flashing, you'll really appreciate the difference...

One of the things you want to do first before you start tweaking your phone is to make sure you have insurance. After that then you can unlock your phone here is the link. This is if you're using sprint.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503

Once you have it unlock than you can start playing around and searching which ROM's you like.

I'm currently using Mighty ROM 5 and is pretty good on battery. In the Stock ROM which is the software the phone comes with, the battery life is really bad.

Re: Just bought a new Touch Pro

Mighty ROM and Juicy are great for speed and if you want a great ROM with alot of toys I recommend Pyski, Silence, and my favorite is Merihda.

I would recommend to use the stock ROM for a few days to get the feel of the phone and so you can see what you like once you start flashing it.

Welcome to the HTC Touch PRO phone and I hope you like it.

Ditto. If you take everyone's advice before forming your own opinion, you won't be as satisfied with your choices.

Re: Just bought a new Touch Pro

+1 to waiting on flashing. Gotta use the Touch Pro a couple of weeks before you start unlocking / flashing. That way you can figure out all the things your device can do, and fully understand how to use all the features. It will also give you a VERY good idea on how smoothly, or how buggy certain things are.

After 2 weeks, then try flashing something new. If you want to start with a 6.5 ROM that's close to the original Sprint ROM (as far as included Sprint goodies like Navigation and Sprint TV), I would suggest either SsS ROM, or JD's Revenge.

Re: Just bought a new Touch Pro

Like bunches of people, I have tweaked more than a few tweaks. I ended up doing a hard reset recently due to an email problem and decided this time to tweak way less than before. The device is configured basically as it was before with 2 registry tweaks and the original ROM. The above advice is sound - use it for a while before playing.
