Getting a Touch Pro have a couple questions...

I'm sorry, I know I could probably find this with searching but there's SOOO much info I'm having a problem..

Here's the deal, I used many WinMo devices before switching to blackberries, and I'm switching back, I know I'm going to be sooo frustrated with the battery life, but I'm willing to make it work...

So, here's a couple questions, please don't flame me for not searching, like I said I've been a way a while and there's so much info to dig through!!

Okay, I know the TF3D runs on top of Windows Mobile and is not required, but what is "Rhodium" and how does it differe from TF3D and Mobile Shell?

Man, I had a ton of questions, and I'm drawing a blank..

Let's see if we can make this a "to much to search for help a brutha newbie out!" thread, lol...

Thanks all... And glad to be back!

-Corey

Rhodium is basically the TF3d interface from the new TouchPro 2 (aka Rhodium)

basically it has a few extra features that werent in the original TF3D.

take a look at this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493531

Awesome thanks! The transition from Blackberry to WinMo (especially something with like TF3D) is going to be a quite a learning curve... Luckily I've had WinMo before, lol...

Thanks again!

Re: Getting a Touch Pro have a couple questions...

To add, Mobile Shell is a retail ( as in not free) alternative shell to TF3D. Other shells include PointUI and throttlelauncher and I'm sure a few others. WM6.5 also has Titanium which is a more finger friendly shell(like?). All the alternate shells have free trials, so you can try and see what you like. I might ask, are you getting a great deal on the TP? If not, why not wait for the TP2 which is right around the corner?

I work for a Verizon Retailer, so I don't get upgrades, I pay full retail for everything, so the TP (slightly used) it's much more cost effective, lol...

Thanks for all the info by the way.. I used to run mobile shell ages ago on my 6700 lol...

TouchFlo3D = Manila (No stock or calendar tabs, and text / contact extras)
TouchFlo3D2 = Rhodium Manila (With stock & calendar tabs, text and contact extras included)

I'm using the latter on SsS v119 ROM. WinMo 6.5, with a Sprint theme on the Rhodium Manila so that it looks like it was official from Sprint. (NO WAY THAT WOULD HAPPEN)
