protecting the plastic on the battery cover

what do you all use to protect the skinny piece of plastic with the htc logo and the 2 holes for the flash and camera? you know the long black piece on the battery cover.

I've noticed that mine has started getting scratched and was wondering if there are any screen protector type things to put on it so it doesn't keep getting scratched.

so far ive tried putting a piece of clear scotch tape on it after cutting to size but that seems to just come right off when i put the phone in my pocket.
another thing ive tried is cutting a thin piece of clear plastic and gluing it on with clear glue gel (dries water clear)
ive also tried just putting a layer of the glue gel on the back but that came off after the 2nd time of pulling the phone out of my pocket

are there any other methods that you have tried and works well?

I have one other method which involves super glue and a thin piece of plastic(which i know will work flawlessly) but i'd rather not go that route because i wont ever be able to remove it later on

Re: protecting the plastic on the battery cover

I agree, InvisibleShield or BodyGuardz work well to protect the phone body, battery cover etc.

They suck big time on a touch screen however........

Re: protecting the plastic on the battery cover

I cut a piece out of a 'universal' screen protector. The kind I used has a printed 'grid' - lay it on the back of the phone and trace the outline of the 'black strip' with a pencil - easy to get the right size and it stays on great. In fact, it has lasted longer than the screen protector I used on the face of the phone.

After I do the universal screen protector, I also wax the back plate with nano wax to prevent minor scratching and dirt buildup on the rubber.

Re: protecting the plastic on the battery cover

Personally, I love the Invisible shield. I have the full body cover for my phone and it is awesome. I have done that key thing to show others how well it works. It just amazes the hell out of em. Not to mention, I have a bad habit of shoving my phone in my pocket along with my keys, and change, and no scratches. And yes, I do have a phone case, its just a bad habit.
