Question Internet Share with Wondows 7

I just formatted my laptop to windows 7 yesterday and when I tried to share internet from my TPro it connects but intenet is not available. Anyone else have experience with this? Any fixes? (I pay Alltel the $30 a month to use it...)

XP worked flawlessly. I am bypassing Vista even though it came on my laptop it ran poorly so I formatted and installed one of my XP licenses so I don't know if this worked in Vista.

Re: Internet Share with Wondows 7

It does infact work with Vista, thats whats on my laptop now....Im not sure about windows 7 though. I did have an issue with my phone internet sharing, and I read the internet sharing registry hack and that fixed it...It just stopped working one day and I had to do the reg tweak. Let me see if I can find the link to the post...

Heres the link bro, hope this helps!!!!!!! http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/sho...ight=tethering

Rats, different registry values in my Alltel phone. Checking out PDA net now, if it works it is cheaper than paying a single month to Alltel.

Re: Internet Share with Windows 7

i'm actually using windows 7 and internet sharing as we speak. it works fine. just make sure you download the Windows Mobile Device Center. i believe installing it will install the drivers you need to use the internet sharing.
*edit* also, almost any custom rom you install will allow you to use internet sharing. as soon as you connect your phone to your pc, it'll ask if you want to connect with activesync, external drive, or internet sharing. if you choose internet sharing, it will open the app and usually connect for you... for free :P

Re: Internet Share with Wondows 7

Tested and bought PdaNET instead. Works like a charm. Now I only have to figure out how to tether on my Ubuntu system! Thank you for your help, though.
