Problems with TomTom on Touch Pro

Hey there was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows a fix?

TomTom worked fine on my Mogul, but since I got the Touch PRO I can't use the keyboard, have to use the touch screen to input letters.

If I use the keyboard it gives me an extra character after every letter I type, example:
2Δδ3Δδ4 SΔδTΔrΔδeΔδeΔδtΔδ

Any ideas?

I've just been dealing with it for the past 7 or 8 months, figured why not ask.

Re: Problems with TomTom on Touch Pro

Try disabling ET9 IME, give me a minute to look up the reg change

//here
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e001 0409
Layout Text = COMP IME
Ime File = /windows/compime.dll

Re: Problems with TomTom on Touch Pro

Thanks for the quick response, went in and I found e0010409

I'm not sure how to change to the above, state the following:
NAME:Layout Text
DATA:US
TYPE:REG_SZ

Click to modify gives me following options
TYPE: String/Multi String/DWord/Binary
VALUE:US

The other "NAMES" in e0010409 are
Default/(value not set)/REG_SZ
Layout File/KbdNopAll.dll/REG_SZ
PS2_AT/KbdNopAll.dll/REG_SZ

Sorry for not knowing anything about any of this.

Re: Problems with TomTom on Touch Pro

you might be in the wrong folder, make sure it's the one that has the e in the beginning. You can also try searching for the specific entry by looking for "et9 IME" or "\windows\eT9ime.dll"

Re: Problems with TomTom on Touch Pro

Wow it gave me totally different options when I went back in and navigated through actually clicking on folders instead of using the "tree"

Just input and soft reset - worked like a charm thanks a million!

*edit* not exactly a million, but your last 20 were thanked

Re: Problems with TomTom on Touch Pro

hahah, awesome, glad to help. That soft keyboard gave many people a headache due to its autoword complete. Another huge problem with the soft keyboard was that it sometimes reverted to numbers only format. If this happens to you, change this

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\Ime
CurrentET9Style = 0
