On-screen keyboard automatically opens for input?

Whenever I open a text or play a game that requires number/letter input, my on-screen keyboard (TouchPal) automatically opens up. Is there any way to keep the keyboard minimized until I hit the keyboard button/icon? It gets in the way of some text and on screen displays in games the way it currently is.

this will give you a selection to kill the pop-up keyboard.

First, thank you for the link. Very quick response! Quick questions though:

1 - Can you still tap the icon to open the on screen keyboard? Just the way it looks makes me believe it literally KILLS the OS keyboard. I just don't want to ruin my little setup..

2 - Is this uninstallable and/or able to be turned off when you want the keyboard to pop up (during a heavy text conversation, for example)? As mentioned above, as far as I'm concerned, this is the perfect little setup I've got and I'll go nuts if *I* mess it up hahah.

Thanks again.

I tried the reg edits but didn't have any luck. In some instances it does work but not in opera....
