what is the best free gps tracking software that does not run in the foreground, or make me start and end a trip manually, but will just display my location whenever i want to view it? I cannot seem to find much of a simple program. Any suggestions?

almost but i need a program that runs discretely in the background (no not tracking without permission, but like that where it is out of the way, and not easily shut off)

wow thanks that program is one step away from perfect. definately a keeper, is there a way to have the program shutdown after it has been activated via text? or does it have to stay on?
