Re: Boot failure
Unfortunately, if you cannot get it to startup, it looks like a hard reset is in store for you. Sorry, hopefully you have a good, current backup.

Re: Boot failure
Thank you for the response. I will start proceedings now to kill my phone. (SAD!)
Oh well, I guess I'll take this opportunity to try a new rom or two. |

Re: Boot failure
TP can act weird at times, I will stay stubborn with it a bit as trying taking the battery out for few min, putting it back, plugging it to a charger or USB and see what you get, trying soft reset couple times....you may get lucky man

Re: Boot failure
This happened to me as well. I wound up using it as an excuse to flash the new Mighty ROM 6.5. It worked fine in the morning and then at work I had to reset it, but it wouldn't go past the boot screen. As long as you have your data backed up somewhere, either online with MyPhone or a storage card, hard resets don't have to be that aggravating.

Re: Boot failure
Ok, crap. I hard reset, it seemed to install fine, but the reboot after the phone finished customizations, it is once again trapped at the initial Touch Pro Screen! Argh!

At the bottom under Sprint there is an Updated version listed, is that the updated rom you are offering? Can I install it on a phone that will not boot? Such as using the SD Card as described here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=43266 But it says I should unlock it first, is that not necessary to install the stock rom above? |

Yes, that version will work fine and yes you can install it on a TP that won't boot via the SD card option. You do not need to unlock the phone for official Sprint roms, only custom roms. Good luck! |
This post has been thanked 1 times. |

Re: Boot failure
you can force the phone into bootloader mode as well in order to flash the phone that won't boot correctly. I believe the button combination is power and volume down. This is what I did as I don't have a SD card reader at work.
The ROM installer on your PC will automatically detect your phone is in bootloader mode and proceed to dump the ROM image onto your phone. |
