Flashing a new radio?

Ive had my touch pro for a while (actually three because my keyboard kept breaking) and I just received a new replacement one and want to try out flashing custom ROMS because I was too afraid to try before. I think I have figured out how to flash to MightRom 5 but I have also heard that flashing a new radio can increase battery life. Is this true? if so how do I go about doing this and what radio should I flash?

i have noticed significant battery increase once i changed to the telus 1.04 radio. It may be different in your area, but changing the radio can definitely help that problem.

Re: Flashing a new radio?

Thanks I figured it out and flashed the telus Radio, i hope battery life increases. With my previous two touch pros the battery life was atrocious with stock ROM, not even lasting 12 hours.

Re: Flashing a new radio?

also bad reception is another reason of battery life. im pretty sure with all my tweaks when i go to a place with awesome service i should have a whole day of battery life. i have done every battery tweak i could find haha

Re: Flashing a new radio?

Flashing noob question, if I want to flash a radio from microsd, are these the right steps:

1. Load the .nbh file onto FAT32 formatted card
2. Soft reset into bootloader and it should run

Do you need to unlock to flash a radio?
About how long should it take?

Thanks

I don't know about the first 2, but your phone does have to be unlocked to flash a new radio. it takes about 3 minutes if you do it thru a computer.
