help flash to another carrier for my wife please

i plan on surprising my wife by giving her a touch pro. the problem is that it is set for sprint and i want to flash and ready it for alltel. i know how to flash the phone and have the alltel stock rom downloaded. i just dont know what to do as far as radios go or what else needs to be done. anyone who is willing to help me out and make the battle ax happy

please pm me or run it through for me in the post. i have looked and looked and looked thats how i learned how to flash and found the stock alltel rom i just dont know what the heck else to do. thanks for your time.

As for radios, the sprint radio currently on your phone should work just fine for alltel.

However, you can flash the radio at anytime after you get your phone working with the alltel ROM. Just leave it unlocked.

Thanks for the heads up! I was unaware that verizon stop allowing this.
I guess now they want 'make' you to buy a new phone (and 2yr contract).

I thought he said he was going with alltel, not Verizon.

I know Verizon just bought alltel (they just did a system update in my area).

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

But alltel is still selling their own contracts.
If he goes to alltel or calls and has it activated, he should be good to go from then on right? I mean the ESN would then be in the verizon database when the merger is complete.
It might be less of a hassle by dodging Verizon altogether.

i think if he tells them it's a alltel phone(even though it's sprint), they usually add it but you have to find the right tech that knows what they're doing. but i just got bits and pieces from the linked thread.

thanks alot you guys but i do know how to flash and all that just wanted to know if there was a clean sure way of getting a sprint pro to work with alltel. this is going to kill me if it doesnt. ill have to go through the trouble of selling the sprint tp and buying an alltel tp. that other link it is 41 pages worth of stuff thats crazy.

If you are activating on Alltel, you "may" not have to go through all the trouble from Verizon.
