Yes, it will work. The phone must be powered off first.
Press & hold vol down -> press & hold power -> press center DPad, release & follow the directions. (press vol up?)

Or you can go to start -> settings-> system tab -> clear storage

The key is to make sure your device is powered off first

The key is to take the battery out first. insert the battery then circle, volume down and power all at once.

Re: How to Hard reset??

What does a hard reset do exactly? I had my phone start mass text messaging people after I got off the airplane, went to hard reset, and it said it would clear out everything, wasn't sure what all that referred to so I didn't do it, just flashed a new rom.

Re: How to Hard reset??

It restores the phone back to factory ( when u first got the phone) It is always a good idea to hard reset when flashing to a new ROM as well

Re: How to Hard reset??

It clears out the contacts and all that? My fear was I'd have to restore my phone number or something of that nature.

Hmm, doesn't it restore the phone to the current ROM that is loaded onto the phone? If that is the factory, that it will restore back to factory. If you have flashed a new ROM, it will start you with a fresh version of that new ROM, not factory...

Yes, it removes your contacts and any data you've saved on the device, but will leave the SD card alone. You don't have to restore your phone number, that is tied to the phone with your carrier.
