keep the screen off when receiving a txt but have the wheel lights flash

Ok, sorry if this has been asked before but I tried to google it and do a serch on this site but couldn't find anything. I basically want what I put as the title of this thread. I like the wheel lights when I get a txt but I don't want my whole screen to light up everytime. If anyone can let me know how to do this I'd appreciate it. Thanks ahead of time.

In your case, change the value to "1" and it will keep your phone's screen off once a new Test Message comes in. Make sure you do a soft reset after you made the change.
but as i am still reading this does not work?

Re: keep the screen off when receiving a txt but have the wheel lights flash

ok i tried and idk what was with that option but after trying that my touchflo takes forever to load after soft reset. I've tried twice but same thing. Changing back now

I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I edited it while using mymobiler and soft reset while it was still connected too

Oh and the 1st reset said some .dll coudln't load (of course i didn't write down which one) but after the 2nd pass loaded the .dll

Re: keep the screen off when receiving a txt but have the wheel lights flash

I can find "HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL" but not "DisableSMSWakeUpEvent".
Would I need to add this as a new string value or DWORD value? My RIL folder has two subfolders for DTMF and NITZCUSTOMIZE. There's nothing in DTMF and an enabletimezone in NITZCUSTOMIZE.
The RIL folder has ComPort, Dll, Prefix as stings and EnableGoodAPSystemType, Flags, Index, NITZEnable, Order as DWORD values.
Thanks for any help.

Wish I could help you there but mine had it in the RIL folder. I don't have the subfolder DTMF though only NITZCUSTOMIZE. Do you know what that DTMF folder came from?

Not a clue. I'm not very tech-savy as the registry goes, but I have been able to use it to change reminder settings and the dumb keyboard issues (thankfully someone put a cab file for that).

When you said that did you just mean the issues where the light cuts off too quickly or are there other issues that people are having that I haven't noticed yet? (sorry I just got this phone at the start of this month so I don't know a whole lot compared to some other people on here)

Re: keep the screen off when receiving a txt but have the wheel lights flash

I just want my phone to NOT wake up on a text notification. It doesn't come on when I get an email... just the sound notification. I want the same thing for texts.

Oh sorry man, I was asking you about the keyboard thing you just stated... I still don't know how to handle the other thing you stated (seeing as I'm the one that started this thread to get the same thing)
