Locking My Phone

I am using MR5 May 8th release and I was wondering if there was an automatic lock feature that doesnt require the password. When click on the start button to get the list of programs the left menu soft key says lock, then the phone goes to a lock feature that all you have to do is slide one way or the other. I know there is a program called S2U2 but I was wondering if the one on this ROM has a auto lock feature.

Re: Locking My Phone

Try PocketShield or download Device Lock. Those seem to be the most used one. There is not a a lock program on MR5

Re: Locking My Phone

You could try PocketShield.. http://pocketshield.netserver01.com/default.htm An outstanding locking program that locks when u power it off and opens by sliding, with the light sensor, with movement gestues etc.. It's not free...

Re: Locking My Phone

I really like how s2u2 unlocks. I dont like iphones much but i like how that unlocks and this is similar to s2u2. I guess i will have to suffer with the battery drain though

I have spent alot of time recently playing with these sort of utilities. So far i really like Touch Lock Pro. It has up until a few days ago been very reliable. It has started to fail to start itself however so i may have to retract this recommendation if it turns out i didn't cause the issue unwittingly.

I tried many of the others and found them to be frustratingly unreliable in many instances. Though, Sensor lock was a great idea and worked pretty well the author isn't supporting it any longer so i don't want to get too attached.

I too, had problems with Touch Lock Pro on MightyROM5. It would work one day and not the next. I like it when it worked, because you can have the TLP work in the background with out a background/screen. So what I did was use the light sensor to unlock the phone and have the WM6.5 locking program set for 15+ minutes. This combo will make my phone secure and prevent the password requirement every time I turn the screen on. And unlike PocketShield, there no "double" screens, one for PS and one for the WM6.5 locking app.

So at the end of the day, I am still looking for a stable screen locking app that will:
  • no locking screen, 'cause I will have on with WM6.5 lock app
  • must have unlocking by light sensor
  • must have locking by power button (top left of TP device)

There is a Slide Lock on MR5. When you click start to show your programs the Bottom Left Menu Key says "Lock" and it locks the phone and you have to slide at the top to unlock, I am trying to see if you can have that activate once the screen turns off.
