Phone answers by itself

Recently it seems my touch pro answers by itself without me pressing any buttons. Is there a way to stop it from doing this?

Re: Phone answers by itself

if you are talking about when the TP is in the hoster/pockets/purse..etc., that is a common problem with the standard dialer skin, most people just install a S2A (Slide To Answer) skin type of dialer to prevent the accidental answering issue.

Re: Phone answers by itself

You can also check in start/settings/personal/phone/more, and make sure auto answer is not checked.

Re: Phone answers by itself

Thanks for the answers, but I don't use a holster and the phone is not set to answer automatically. I also noticed that it doesn't do it when the phone is laying down only when it is upright. any registry edit that I can do?

Re: Phone answers by itself

One of the guys I work with is having the same issue. We have already made sure auto answer wasn't checked. He is using a holster and has tried to be careful taking it out but it does it almost every time. I didn't think about the S2U because I thought it was just hime doing something wrong, lol, I guess I owe him an apology.

Re: Phone answers by itself

I already have s2a. It is not that. if the phone rings and it is laying down it won't do it. if i pick the phone up and the phone is upright one second later it answers by itself. if the phone is in my hand and it is upright it will answer by itself. if i'm on the phone and another call comes in since the phone is upright it will automatically answer it. it never did this until the first time i installed s2a.

Re: Phone answers by itself

I am alittle confussed, you say "I already have s2a. It is not that.", then you state that "it never did this untill the first time i installed s2a".

Try uninstalling s2a and see if you have the same issue,

We are talking s2a not s2u which has a buit in s2a, just making sure.

I been running s2a cdma version for a long time and never had that issue.

Re: Phone answers by itself

What I meant by "it's not that", was that it is not the fact that I don't have s2a and when i pull it out of the holster it answers by mistake. I do have s2u2, but it was a little buggy sometimes with its own slide to answer function. so i disabled that function and then downloaded the s2a app (the white version). I immediately noticed the problem that i'm having so then i erased s2a. however the problem persists.
