Are you saying you want to cancell your alltel service and sign up with verizon and reprogram your phone to work on verizon?

For future reference, read this http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=65925

I'm gonna have to say that the verizon guy didn't know what he was talkin about. Maybe in the future an official verizon rom will be available for those of us with alltel touch pro's, but nothing like that now. You can't flash a shipped verizon rom onto a non verizon touch pro because it checks the device ID prior to flashing. The device ID on the alltel touch pro is RAPH800 and it's RAPH500 on the verizon. The shipped verizon rom is available here though http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42741.

As far as the strange problem with your phone, have you done a hard reset? That should fix your problem unless it's hardware related. Or just unlock it and flash any of the great custom roms available in this forum. It's easy.

Can you please explain? or proof? I've flashed numerous amouts of touch pro's and I'm sure that it's not possible with an official rom, even if you extract the nbh and tried though microSD card.

If he got a dump of one, and unlocked his phone, then he could do it. But not as I stated.

I answered you in the PM you sent.

BUt I will expalin again.... The RUU looks at the device ID but not the 500 or 800 portion. Its looking at the RAPH portion. You can have any numerical value there.

I have flashed numerous times as well. I develop some of the fastest ROM's and kitchens in the world. Hands down. I have my own website devoted to the device with its own support forums and very large user base. That does not mean I know everything. I could be wrong. I will try to confirm when I get home but I have flashed NUMEROUS carrier shipped roms that are signed on my phone with no isssues.

Have you ever tried or are you suggestiong theory?

I just want everyone to know there is no ill intent with this posting. and I said on multiple occasions I could be wrong. Anyone with any hurt feelings need to accept the fact that I said I COULD BE WRONG. I dont know how I can make my words any more literal but whatever..... I dont know a whole lot about these ROM and HTC PPC Thingies anyways..... Never said I did ;c)
