GPS locks in but doesnt move.

Im posting on this issue because I feel If I post on MR5 my post like be lost in the thread. I've been flashing a while now and stopped for about 2 wks since I was going to take my phone in so I had to flash the stock ROM for those 2 weeks. Everythin was working just fine GPS was locking in quick to satellites and followed me just fine. This past weekend I decided to unlock again and flash to MR5. I was posting on the thread that my GPS would lock in but wouldnt move at all so I had a small back and forth chat on the thread with RAZORLOVES and said his GPS was fine. I flashed back to ALLTEL stock to Y4J and R3BORN but still having the same problem. Hard reset like 4 times on each stilll same problem tried LORDSHAWDOWZ tweaks but the problem is still there. I need help in finding out how this is happenig or if its time to take it in as I intended to in the first place.

i had this same problem on my vogue (im also on alltel) when i flashed nfsfan's 6.5 rom and doing the agps fix with qpst. I had to undo all the agps fixes, then hard reset, and then do them again and it worked. But it may be diferent on the touch pro, im unsure as i am new to this device.

The problem lies in the software (be it the ROM or the navigation software). If you're running a non-Alltel ROM, expect problems. No one is perfect, and that goes for the ROM cookers, so there may be an issue there, if not the navigation or both.

Having gotten that out of the way, on the stock ROM, the Tele-Nav occasionally sticks, and I think I figured out that is because the GPS unit is weak, and even slight cloud cover will interfere with it.

OK I figured out the problem and No it wasn't a chef's problem at all!! I tried some tweaks using ADVANCED CONFIGURATION that I found online. What did to fix it...was I enabled aGPS on ADVANCED CONFIGURATION, soft reset and went for a ride and it locked and was following me just fine. After that I disabled it once again and it still worked good. So I turned aGPS and turned back off and that fixed my problem. This thread can be closed if the mods want to. ;)

Did you see me put down the cooks around here? Can you prove that anyone of them are pefect? Find me any ONE non-factory ROM, or hell for that matter a factory ROM that is PERFECT, and has NO FLAWS at all. Good luck. All I did was only state the obvious, and that there can be confilcts, especially if there is a non-Alltel ROM on an Alltel device and service. I can tell you stories about my 6800 at times where NOTHING would work at all, until flashing a new ROM, or even tweeking my own.

I am personally a big fan of No2Chem's works, and have used several of his ROMs in the past. As good as they are, they still have little things that need to be tweeked, or outright fixed in many situations. Hence the many versions, trying to make them better.

So please, try not to assume anything about someone before you post some smart *** comment as though they're some random idiot, thanks.

I put "lol". It was a little joke. I didn't mean it like you think. Sorry bout that.

There are plenty of experienced people on here reporting ZERO problems with Mighty's R3BORN.

That would be me for one.

I am running that ROM & have so many programs & apps installed that I have less than 50 megs of free space, & EVERYTHING works perfectly (SMS, MMS, Slingbox, GPS, ripped DVD movies, over 500 mp3's etc etc etc etc)

I'll look into that one. I'm looking for a new ROM on the TP, but I'm still having too much fun with my Touch. So easy to play with. TF3D is a chore to me still.

Also, I apologize for taking what you said out of context. God save the interwebz.
