customization after hard reset

I want to do some testing before I cook my own rom. On the apache there was a way to stop the customization installation after a hard reset. Is there a way to stop it on the touch pro as well?

Right after UC starts, just soft reset it... I've seen that around, but have never tried. It's an extra boot but it should kill it.

That never worked for me with the stock Sprint ROM.

I must have tried rebooting 20 times in a row at various stages trying to kill the customizations from running one time, & it just goes right ahead & does it anyway..........

Believe me, I was catching it within that time frame but it didn't seem to matter. Every single time it rebooted, it would go right into the customizations again so I finally gave up (after spending over an hour restarting the damn thing)
