Rotating Today Screen:

Been searching for an answer so I'm posting, forgive me for not finding.........I've installed a few roms recently that allows the screen to rotate if I turn it upside down (example, when I have my touch pro connected to my car charger, it sits upside down in my cup holder, screen will rotate so that I can read the clock), what controls this? in those roms I didn't see a program for this............I like how Opera rotates when using the browser but would like the phone-side to do this too...thanks for your help
