annoying chime at startup

i would like to know what this means and how to turn it off. whenever i restart my phone, it will do a chime at least 5 times, and I don't know what it means.
it's like a "da-ding" every 5 or 10 seconds, and it does it at least 5 times.

in the settings, all my communications are set to OFF except Phone (cellular radio) if that makes any difference.

Re: annoying chime at startup

yes, the chime is the same sound as a calendar appointment. i have no idea how to clear missed appointments, can someone tell me how? this has been going on for half a year now, so i hope i dont have to scroll through the calander day by day or something...
obviously i am not familiar with my phone whatsoever and barely use it
